Concept and Approach

  • Eventually I envisioned a system where all dayanim could announce (after approval) whatever projects they were working on and invite comment, discussion and participation.
  • I would like the site to at least have a balance of 50%-50% between halacha and politics (right now it is 90% politics).
  • Rabbi Mantel says that the Sanhedrin and the Talmud are almost synonymous. We should make it so in the website. Need full intro to Oral Law, Talmudic tractates, etc.
  • The Sanhedrin Initiative must be clearly communicated to the general public, however this cannot be done unless the people involved have a well developed, professional proposal. Serious, scholarly attention must be paid to planning the transition of an ancient institution to a modern legislature. In short much homework must be done first, and the F.O.S. websites are a part of that effort.

  • [ ] 300 additional news articles need to be added to "Sanhedrin in the News", (see me for list).
  • [ ] Add 35 links to YouTube and Arutz-7 videos (more to do)
  • [ ] Digest material from Tzibur Bnei Yisrael to Committee for Civil Re-organization
  • [ ] Need description for all courts and committees.
  • [ ] Add wikipages for each of the known sanhedrin Rabbis
  • [ ] Add wikipages for each of todays halachic scholars (and page for current halachic leadership)
  • [X] Add text from Mavo LeTalmud where appropriate
  • [X] Convert old html format legal rulings to wiki format.
  • [ ] Need to rewrite Developing Sanhedrin so it isn't a copy of wikipedia
  • [ ] Add more historical & halachic background on previous attempts to renew semicha and establish a sanhedrin.
  • [ ] Add text from Rabbi Martel's works where appropriate
  • [ ] Add summary of other attempts to make sanhedrin
  • [ ] Add new background material sent to me from Rabbi Stein & Jonathan Hahn
  • [ ] Order Osat mispat book
  • [ ] Add Osat Mishpat.
  • [ ] Set up "thesanhedrin.com" as an e-commerce site able to accept donations and sell manuscripts if needed.
  • [ ] Donations page
  • [ ] Purchase beith-din.com (not possible)
  • [ ] Purchase korban-pesach.org (not possible)
  • [ ] Rabbinic discussion on Korban Pesach
